Instruction on Inclement Weather Days

'Remote Learning Day’ will be announced if the instruction is going to be provided during an inclement weather day.

‘Schools Closed’ will be announced if the instruction is not going to be provided during an inclement weather day.

Considerations

Providing remote instruction means we will not make up the day, as instruction will be provided for students.

  • The amount of instruction, verification of attendance, and depth of learning is to reflect a typical instructional day.
  • A ‘Remote Learning Day’ will operate as a two-hour delay with instruction beginning at 10:00 am.

Students who are unable to complete learning activities during a ‘Remote Learning Day’ will be granted flexibility. However, ‘Remote Learning Day’ instruction is a continuation of course expectations. All assignments are due to the teacher within five (5) days of returning to the regular class. Students who fail to complete assignments within 5 school days after the “Remote Learning Day’  will be counted absent that day.

Activities and lessons are to be educational, subject-specific, and a continuation of learning,  they may differ from traditional assignments completed during in-person learning days. Assignments may include opportunities to incorporate projects and activities that can be done at home with family members that are fun, engaging, and appropriate for a ‘Remote Learning Day’.
